Adani Group Sets up World's Largest Solar Power Plant in Tamil Nadu


BENGALURU: Gautam Adani, founder of Adani group has revealed that Adani group has devoted the nation with a solar power plant that is set up at Kamuthi in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. Adani group Invested around 4550 crore on the solar power plant, which produces 648-mw capacity of power at a single location.

The power plant is a part of state government’s solar energy policy, unveiled in 2012, targeting to generate power of 3000mw. The company has received resources such as equipments and machinery from different parts of the world to set up 648 MW capacity power plant within a span of 8 months.

Adani group has made the nation proud by setting up such a huge power plant in Tamil Nadu. This has taken the country one step closer to its ambition to become one of the leading green energy producers in the world.

The power plant is now connected to Kamuthi 400 kv sub-station of Tantransco and consists of 3.80 lakh foundations, 25 lakh solar modules, 27,000 mt of structure, 576 inverters, 154 transformers along with 6,000-km cables. This power plant in its formation includes the efforts of 8,500 personnel who have all worked for an average about 11 mw of installation in a day to establish the plant in the specified time that generates revenue of $10billion.
