8 Indians Among World's 100 Best Performing CEOs


Bangalore: CEOs play a vital role in shaping up the organization. At the same time, they also become the key strength in helping the company grow further. The company recognizes their determination and hard work and rewards them with high remuneration.

There are eight Indian CEOs who are listed under top 100 best performing CEOs in the world. The survey was conducted by Harvard Business Review (HBR) which is led by late Apple chief, Steve Jobs.

Along with the financial performance, the study was also highlighted their achievements in terms of corporate social responsibility. Read below to know about these 8 Indian CEOs who have managed through the list of top 100 best performing CEOs in the world, as listed by Rediff.

1. Y. C. Deveshwar

The alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School, Y. C Deveshwar joined ITC in the year 1968. He became the chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 1996.  Deveshwar is the only Indian CEO ranked 7 in the list of top 10 leaders globally.

Deveshwar also served as the chairman and Managing Director at Air India from 1991 to 1994.

In the year 2011, Deveshwar was honored with Padma Bhushan, which is one of the most prestigious awards presented by the Government of India.
