4 Indians in Fortune's '40 Under 40'


BANGALORE: Indians continue to shine globally. Four Indian nationals have been named by Fortune in its list of 40 most powerful, influential and important people in business under the age of 40. The list includes Snapdeal’s co-founder Raj Chetty, a Harvard University professor, reports India Today.

Fortune's 2014 '40 under 40' list is topped by ridesharing service company Uber's 38 year old co-founder, Travis Kalanick. This position is also shared by Brian Chesky, 33 year old CEO of community-driven hospitality company, Airbnb.

Other Indians in the list include, CEO of WhatsApp, Jan Koum on rank 5, Micromax co-founder and CEO Rahul Sharma ranked 21, Snapdeal Co-Founder and CEO Kunal Bahl ranked 25, and Twitter's General counsel and the only woman on the company's executive team Vijaya Gadde ranked 28.

The list’s super-achievers are Founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg at the number two spot and Italy's youngest Prime Minister Matteo Renzi at the third position.

These young men are considered the ones who "don't like limits, and they don't like being told no."

Fortune says this year's list is of "young hotshots who are rocking businesses," as it includes many from sectors as diverse as technology, finance, fashion and film and all have "power, influence, leverage, scale, and ideas that disrupt."

Yahoo's Ex-CEO Marissa Mayer is ranked 6, New York Stock Exchange President, Tom Farley is ranked 7 and Twitter co-founder and CEO, Jack Dorsey is ranked 11.
