The company was first launched in Seattle in 1971 and since then there is no looking back. At present they are spread over 16,300 locations across the globe and now India is also in the list. Since 1987, Starbucks, on an average has added two stores on a daily basis. Starbucks had 137,000 employees or "partners" as they called them in 2010. This is twice the population of Greenland. Starbucks opened its first store in Beijing in 1999 which now rose to 376 stores in China which is expected to reach 1000 by 2015.
