Lloyd C. Blankfein is one of the only CEOs in Wall Street who could survive the long-lasted financial crisis. He started his career at Goldman’s commodities trading arm in 1981 as a precious metals salesman in the London office. From there he gradually stepped up to the higher positions acquiring the CEO crown in 2006.

He was born and brought up in a working-class family in Brooklyn which might have sowed the working class hardships and commitment in his mind. He earned his law degree from Harvard and started his career at Donovan, Leisure, Newton & Irvine.

In November 2011, blankfein appeared on Forbes Magazine’s list of ‘The World’s most Powerful People’ at position #43.

There are rumors that Blankfein would leave the post in the company in the coming summer. In 2011 he could make $16.1 million in total compensation.
