3. Hampton Inn

Hampton Inn is the name of a hotel trademarked by Hilton Worldwide. The Hampton Hotels were previously owned by Promus Hotel Corporation and were launched as a division of Holiday Inn. Hilton then acquired Promus Hotels in 1999 for $3.7 billion. The Hampton hotels are aimed to provide services to people who want excellent service at affordable price. The chain comprises more than 1,800 hotels as of 2011.

Subway is owned and operated by Doctor’s Associates and it is specialized in submarine sandwiches and salads. It is an American fast food restaurant and is one of the fastest growing franchise in the world with 40,043 restaurants in 102 countries as of 2013. It also has a record of being the largest single brand restaurant and largest restaurant operator globally.

This might come as a surprise to all the fast food lovers, but their favorite KFC or McDonalds have been surpassed by 7-Eleven which is the world’s largest operator, franchisor, and licensor of convenience stores. It has more than 50,000 outlets in 16 countries and it works under parent company Seven & I Holdings. The company is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The company originated in 1927 when an employee of Southland Ice Company, John Jefferson Green, started selling convenience items like bread, milk from a makeshift storefront in one of the company’s ice houses. The venture became an immediate hit and Thompson eventually bought the Southland Ice Company and converted it into Southland Corporation.  The company changed its name to 7-Eleven in 1999.
