Daniel Aaron was an orphan when he came to U.S. Aaron’s family was highly affected by the Nazi’s. In the pursuit of saving own life, Aaron and his family migrated to the U.S. in 1938; he was only twelve years at that time.

After working as a journalist in Philadelphia, Aaron joined Ralph J. Robert and Julian A. Brodsky and took over a cable company, known as ‘Comcast Corporation’ in Mississippi. During that time, the company had only 1,200 customers.

Today, Comcast is one of the world’s largest media firm, cable provider, internet provider and also one of the largest telephone provider in the U.S.

This might sound absurd and unbelievable that one of the founders of the popular web-portal and search engine, ‘Yahoo!’, knew only one word of English upon his arrival in the U.S. Yes, this is very true!

Jerry Yang was born in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to the U.S. along with his mother and brother at the age of ten years. Upon his arrival in San Jose, the only English word known to him was ‘shoe’. Jerry took almost three years to get fluency in English.
