Bangalore: While the gold prices are rising again after hitting two-year low, many gold retailers are flocking to buy gold taking full advantage of the opportunity. However, on the other hand economists and market experts are considering it a bad news.

According to World Gold Council, there was total of 31,694.8 tonnes of gold in the early 2013 at this point of time, when gold is taking a volatile ride, let’s take a look at the countries that hold biggest gold reserves, as listed by Rediff.

1. United States
Official Gold Holdings: 8,133.5 Tonnes
Percentage Of Foreign Reserves In Gold: 75.1 Percent

United States of America is home to largest gold reserves in the world. Back in, 1952, U.S. had its largest gold reserves in terms of volume. Currently United States has the official gold holdings of 8,133.5 tonnes and 75.1 percent of foreign reserves.
