Establishment :

             Sathyabama University, formerly known as Sathyabama Engineering College was established by JEPPIAAR EDUCATIONAL TRUST in 1987. It is a pioneer institute in imparting knowledge in the areas of engineering, science, technology and education. The institution’s progress and contribution in the field of technical education over two decades made the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India to grant Deemed University status on 16th July 2001 and University status on 13th September 2006 under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 . Sathyabama University strengthens its development activities under the dynamic leadership of Chancellor Col. Dr. Jeppiaar, Madam Chancellor and with the able support and   valuable  guidance  of  the Directors, Vice Chancellor, Deans, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, HODs and the Faculty Members.  The University has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation  Council (NAAC) and ISO 9001: 2008 certification for professional quality management.

To accomplish the social responsibility, the University is successfully conducting non formal education programmes through 18 Village Resource Centres (VRC). To strengthen its social responsibility, Sathyabama University has been consistently encouraging the undergraduate students to participate in several awareness creating rallies in Anti-Campaigning crucial issues like Dowry, plastic usage, coastal pollution etc.

Admission Information:

University conducts All India Level Entrance Examination for admitting the students in various Courses.  Students are admitted on the basis of rank secured in the Entrance Examination.

University follows Semester pattern of evaluation, comprises of continuous internal evaluation.  University follows credit based evaluation and successful grandaunts are divided into three categories, i.e., First class with Distinction (students who get 7.5 or more CGPA), First class (student with 6.0 to 7.49 CGPA) and Second Class (students having less than 6.0 CGPA). Apart from the curriculum based teaching, students are being trained for attending campus interviews.
