Journalism Student of LPU Got Direct Entry to Miss India 2015 Final Round

LPU Student got entry to Miss India 2015 final RoundJalandhar: A student from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication of Lovely Professional University Preeti Meel has been selected for direct entry to Miss India 2015 Final Round to be held in Mumbai. Representing Miss India organization, Miss Asia Pacific-2013 Srishti Rana had reached LPU Campus as Jury to select models for the coveted pageant from LPU Global Open Fest 2014. Miss India is the oldest and most credible beauty pageant of India with lineage of 51 years.

Daughter of a JCO in army, 19 years old Preeti hails from Jaipur and is third year student of her Journalism study program at LPU. Feeling very excited on her selection, she said: “I am thankful to all those who guided me to reach on this platform. Being at LPU, I always found an inspiring environment all around me, be it my class-fellows, teachers or top brass of the university. Being a Journalism student I had never thought of reaching on such a prestigious dais.”

Telling about her source of inspiration she admitted it whole-heartedly that his father Subedar NS Meel supported the most from her family side. Preeti told: “My father allowed me to join diverse field of Journalism seeing my great interest in it. He let me join this with an advice to continue it with full devotion and perseverance. I am good at studies with good results in my all semesters so far. LPU environ has mentored me well to keep a perfect balance between academics and extra-curricular activities.”

Talking more she was an athlete on state and national level. She was Rajasthan Champion for 100 X 4 relay races. “Had I not stepped to enter the massive global competitions at LPU, I would have never been motivated to follow the hard selection criteria for Miss India. I am lucky to get a golden opportunity to get direct entry.” On asking what her aim will be on being crowned as Miss India, she boldly said that she will come forward to help the needy and the poor who always remain deprived of. We should share our things with those who are in the most need of these. By the grace of God whenever I go to some eating joint, I share delicacies with the poor children found around.”

Asking about her next Journey to Mumbai, Preeti told: “My selector, Miss Asia Pacific 2013 Srishti Rana has guided me well about my health diet, physical fitness and allied issues. Ms Rana has informed me that beauty contests are always judged by eminent panels of Jury making the selection process tougher.  So I will have to be trained by the best experts from the fashion & glamour industry for a week after my selection for the finalists. I want all to pray for my brilliant success at the pageant as my selection will certainly inspire each and every common girl of a street or city to aspire and win.”

Illustrative, the other girl selected is Avneet Kaur Sandhu also a student of Journalism from Dehradun. The qualifying finalists from the final round of auditions in Mumbai will further take part in the Grand Finale of the Femina Miss India Pageant in 2015, which will crown the three Miss India, Miss India World; Miss India-International and Miss Asia Pacific 2015.
