International Conference on Physical Education and Sports Sciences inaugurated

International Conference on sports was inaugurated in Manipal University Campus with the august presence of Chief Guest Smt. Krishna Poonia, who emphasized on the research on sports, sports injury and sports medicine to be made available to the sportsmen. She further urged that if the country wishes to obtain maximum medals in 2024 Olympics, the preparations have to start forth with at school, college and university level. Smt. Poonia praised Manipal University Jaipur for the excellent efforts for development of sports in the campus and hosting International conference.

Prof. A.M. Moorty, VC, Physical Education and Sports University, Tamil Nadu, expressed his appreciation on MUJ hosting the conference and emphasized the importance of medicine in sports.
Chairperson of the conference Dr. Sandeep Sancheti, highlighted the sports policies, facilities and sports activities which are an integral part of the University. Prof. James Skinner, Indiana University, US, conveyed the promotion of sports right from early age and the reasons for American Sportsmen performing excellently in Olympics.



Shri J.C. Mohanty, Principal Secretary,Sports and Health also expressed his views on developmental efforts being made by Govt. for promotion of sports in the state.

Dr. Rina Poonia while givingvote of thanks to the gathering conveyed that participants from 18 Countries numbering more than 600 shall be attending the 3 day conference.
