Headquartered in Amherst, NY, Content Savvy offers business solutions that harness big data based on large-volume multilingual content analytics. The firm was founded in 2011 and has secured a funding of $992.30k

In the content analytics industry an aging population and the advent of social data and tools have led to a surge in companies offering healthcare solutions. This is partly due to government initiatives such as "Obamacare", calling for effective patient engagement, for instance, personalized health content being "pushed" to patients.

Healthcare is both a vertical and a horizontal solution. As a horizontal, it encompasses solutions involving clinical data, social media, CRM, business intelligence, health analytics amongst others. All these must converge for improved health and wellness of our communities.

Hype Around Social Media Listening Platforms

Now that the novelty has worn off, organizations are demanding real value from such data. True business insight requires establishing connections between enterprise and external data. Organizations want deeper, context-sensitive understanding of language, for example, detecting customer intent. A tweet mentioning "I'll never visit McDonalds again" signifies a lost customer, providing an opportunity to reach out to him with a discount coupon. Contrast this with current solutions that merely categorize this as negative sentiment. Currently organizations are using multiple solutions including social media listening, text analytics for deeper business intelligence and others. These should merge for the sake of advancement in this sector.

Ongoing Access to Capital is a Key Challenge for Startups

This requires time and effort, which takes away from time spent on sales, and building the business. On the other hand, it forces entrepreneurs to clearly define their strategic positioning and value proposition. With so many start-ups being launched everyday, having this clear differentiator is critical. There is also rapid consolidation taking place in the technology sector with numerous acquisitions by established brands in order to strengthen their offering. Entrepreneurs must continually refine their messaging and solutions in an effort to differentiate themselves.
