Taking challenges in hand
ST Team
Tuesday, February 27, 2007
When the going gets tough, the tough get going is the mantra for Himanshu Singh, who left Cadence Designs Systems to take over as president of India operations, Approva Corporation. “One should not hesitate in taking challenging assignments in hand as going away from challenges, stagnates the learning process,” argues Singh.

Singh served in various roles at Cadence. He acquired new markets and helped grow its business across Asia. He also played key roles in driving success while working in Silicon Graphics—a joint venture between HCL and Hewlett-Packard.

At Approva, he dons the role of steering a team of more than 200 employees in creating better audit and control software. Singh is also responsible for product and business development activities and delivery of professional services across the Asia Pacific region.

He believes in working with the team and getting the best out of them. For him alignment of the team with the vision of the organization and clarity about individual contribution adding up to overall sucess of the organizations are very important. “Learning and contribution go hand in hand,” he says.
