An artist by nature, an engineer by choice—that pretty much sums up the lively Amit Sircar. Tavant Technologies’ latest addition to its sales and marketing stream, Sircar will don the role of Vice President.

An innate need to confront new challenges and apply his expertise, egged this industry veteran into the humble enterprise software and services company after serving big names like HP, IBM and Wipro. “At Tavant, my contributions would be more significant, helping the company to grow while brooking individual growth too,” says he.

Lack of a formal MBA degree did not deter Sircar from scaling up the corporate ladder. It is this confidence that he sees absent among engineers in the IT industry today. While stressing on employee empowerment, Sircar implies that if engineers are held accountable for end result of their product, then that is a sure shot way to improve their self-reliance and increase productivity.

‘People practices’ is the most vulnerable section in the IT industry for this marketing guru: “After all, customers are the most important section of any organization,” he adds with a smile.
