Ranganath Salgame, the newly appointed President of Tejas Networks, describes himself as fun to be with and a person who easily relates to everyone. An engineering graduate from the University of Baroda with a Masters from Virginia Tech, Salgame also holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

After working in the U.S. for 20 years and having stints at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Edgix, Verizon, and others, he moved back to India to join Cisco as the President of India, South Asia, and South East Asia region and later served as the President of Global Projects. During his four year stint at Cisco, he has been credited with making India a strategic priority for Cisco, driving the region’s sales to an undisputable market leadership position. He also led Cisco’s $1.16 billion investment into India, setting the stage for its globalization strategy.

At Tejas, his major challenge is to take Tejas from a million dollar organization to a billion dollar organization. "Tejas is poised for a growth and it is a platform that will change the face of the telecom industry in the years to come," says Salgame.

A person who does not regret his decisions, he says that his organizational and business leadership skills, the ability to balance strategy and execution, and a deep understanding of the market are his major strengths.

He advises 'techies' to 'think big and take risk'. In his leisure, he loves to spend time with his family and read books.
