A science graduate from BITS Pilani and Delhi University, Mohit Rampal, who recently took over as the Country Manager of 3Com India, has over 17 years of experience in IT industry. He started his career in sales and marketing of PC hardware with a dealer of PCL. After that he had stints with many companies, like Rainbow Technologies, SafeNet India, and Avaya Global Connect before joining 3Com. His tenure at Rainbow Technologies, where he single-handedly established the marketing and sales division, is what he considers the turning point in his career.

Tech savvy, Rampal loves to keep himself updated on the latest happenings in the industry and the technology he is working with. Hard work and perseverance is his mantra for success. A perfectionist, he believes in planning in advance for future. His peers describe him as meticulous, focused, and unbiased. By nature a people person, he believes in always standing up for, and alongside his team as he feels the manager plays a very definitive part in a team’s success.

At 3Com, his biggest challenge would be to continually implement the correct strategy to ensure an ongoing increase in market share and revenue. Apart from work, he loves to coach people and help them move ahead in their career. His advice to upcoming techies is to stay focused in their career and not to keep moving from one industry to another. A well planned approach and hard work will definitely pay off in all endeavors.

A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), he is an active speaker at many security forums. For leisure, he spends his time reading, cooking, swimming, and playing cricket whenever possible.
