Ronnie Vasishta named CEO of eASIC
Being a CEO of a mid-sized firm is akin to maneuvering a plane on low ground and is stimulating, so says Ronnie Vasishta, the longtime LSI Logic executive who moved to eASIC, a provider of configurable logic and structured ASIC products as the Vice President in January 2005. eASIC, a 100-person company based in San Jose, CA, has several customers running the company’s logic technology through fabs. Now eASIC’s board of directors, which includes noted venture capitalists Vinod Khosla and Atiq Raza has appointed Vasishta to his first CEO job. “Moving out of the LSI Logic umbrella after all those long years was unsettling initially,” says Vasishta. He grew up in the U.K. and moved to the U.S. only eight and half years ago. Badminton, reading industry literature and spending quality time with his kids has a calming effect at the end of the day.

Prior to MphasiS, a 10-year stint with ITC until 2000, Misra made the transition from a manufacturing background to IT, which was challenging but he strived ahead with aplomb. A chartered accountant by training he did his schooling and graduation in commerce from St.Xavier’s, Kolkata. Creative and out–of–the–box thinking has got him here. An avid quizzer and a self-confessed gadget lover, helps him balance work and play.
