From New York to Nizamabad

What keeps Madhu Yakshi busy these days? As President of International Legal and Trade Consultants in New York you expect him to be busy analyzing his client’s legal issues. But that is not the case. Yakshi is busy elsewhere; in another part of the world—his motherland.
Yakshi is the Congress candidate from Nizamabad in Andhra Pradesh for the 21st Lok Sabha. And he is busy campaigning. He represents all the Indian Americans and not just people of Nizamabad, his constituency, claims a statement from his office.

At a time when legal professionals are being viewed throughout the world with suspicion by the society, it is heartening to hear examples of people in the field who combine both professional integrity and empathy for fellow human beings. In a field in which people make a mark after many decades of work, Yaskhi, has made an early mark in the field of legal services to immigrant communities in United States, particularly, ‘expatriate’ Indians.
Now, Yakshi wants to contribute earnestly to his motherland, of course, with the help of his Indian American friends. “Since India is poised to become the world’s super power, it becomes all the more important to understand the minds of the Indian Diaspora about how to successfully achieve that international status.” That’s where Yakshi will fill the void.

Can he be a catalyst of change in Indian thinking and understanding of the international needs? Many think so. Only the results on May 13th should say.
