'Emperor' with long term goals

Kaushal Veluri, the newly appointed Director of Marketing at Citrix Systems, is a passionate sportsperson but of the ‘couch potato’. Also an avid reader, Veluri likes to read all kinds of books and prefers to end his day by at least turning a couple of pages of a book, which currently happens to be the ‘Emperor’ series by Conn Iggulden.

Though a B.E. graduate in Electronics, Veluri completed his postgraduate diploma in marketing management and has stuck to the field since then. He has 14 years of experience in sales and marketing and prior to Citrix, he has worked with 3M, IBM, and Oracle.

He believes in having a long term vision, teamwork, and aligning oneself with the direction of the business. He derives his inspiration for leadership and strategy from the books he reads and says that the four part series on the story of Alexander has inspired him the most. Veluri advises those who aspire to follow a career in sales and marketing to focus on business, develop a long term vision, strategy, and support, and never underestimate the ground sales staff.
