Mobility and sensors powered data capture are the key technological trends impacting the current enterprises. The Data from mobile workers is increasingly getting transported to cloud portals against the in-house servers and enterprise application platforms. For instance, a web browser such as HTML5 would gradually emerge as the choice format as the operating system landscape continues to fragment.

There is room for Technological Improvement

There is a lot of buzz around Analytics everywhere, and data is captured and stored in large quantities. Nowadays, there are only few firms able to successfully design a data mining effort that is implementable. At Motorola, we continue to believe that the last mile will be the highest leverage point for analytics and business performance. Therefore, developed the TC55 - a 2013 android Jellybean enterprise Smart phone, so as to offer diagnostics and a path to Analytics. Such an approach is aimed towards making enterprises more intelligent and obtaining enhanced perspective into the mobile worker's tasks.

Technology Leaders have to Tackle Many Issues

In the current technological world, building and retaining a vibrant yet dependable ecosystem where your platforms are supported and endorsed by partners within verticals and across geographies, remains a key challenge. Another critical concern is attracting and growing talent across our global sites. It is imperative that you remain the best and the most motivated for assurance on long-term invulnerability to threats, as you execute successfully in quarterly cycles. The other crucial concerns include processing of relevant data as an entity and directing pertinent bits and pieces out of terabytes that come our way. Such attempts require more or less a quiet, zen approach in the orthogonal noise of mobile phones, emails, instant messaging, twitter and other available media.

The challenges encountered as a SVP

We are focusing on making functioning of our worldwide design centers, collaboration with partners and engagements with customers; appear like a small and reachable community, which is a highly challenging task. Several virtual interactive communication tools are made part of the process, in addition to a busy travel schedule. The ongoing rapid integration within chipsets and platforms has led to urgency concerning deployment of our research and development facilities, worth $300 million. In terms of management and execution challenges, it is a daunting task to maintain continuity and effectively manage any end-of-life disruptions from customers, yet we continue to deliver these services better than any other service providers in the segment.

All-around support for Innovation

Our Bangalore office started its own homegrown innovation forum called "Srjana", a few years ago, an annual affair which gained utmost popularity over the years. The attempt has led to the development of more than forty innovative initiatives. The engineers at Motorola work beyond their intense schedule, and spend time to develop systems and ingredients that ensure superior customer success; many of these strategies have been commercial successes.
