A fresh approach
Vimali Swamy

An engineering graduate from IIT Mumbai, Raj Aji started out as a programmer in the IT industry. But, developing a penchant for law he shifted his focus towards corporate law and gained a degree in law from the University of California, Berkeley. Aji practiced law in Silicon Valley at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati where he represented venture backed startup companies as well as publicly traded technology companies. Later he moved across to work with IT firms such as Xoom and Cisco, before taking over as the Vice President - Corporate Development & General Counsel at Tejas. At Cisco, Aji was the lead counsel for the company’s operations in India and its $8 plus billion switching, data center, and network security business lines in San Jose, California.

A fun loving person, Aji believes in approaching things with freshness, a sense of curiosity, and an aptitude for learning. Perhaps this attitude made him take up ‘tabla’ three years ago and try his hands at photography as well. He is also passionate about world music and traveling.
