India's Organized Sector to Create 16 Lakh Jobs This Year Date:   Sunday , April 01, 2012 Reflecting positive hiring trends, an estimated 16 lakh new jobs could be created in the country's organized sector this year. This was found in the survey conducted by leading HR firm Ma Foi Randstad. The latest Employment Trends Survey from Ma Foi Randstad showed that most employers are optimistic about their hiring plans for 2012 and all sectors have indicate positive growth outlook. Ma Foi Randstad MD & CEO E Balaji said the job market is expected to bounce back in 2012 as companies are aiming to maintain growth despite the global slowdown. According to the report, the organized sector in India is set to create about 1.6 million new jobs in the year 2012. The findings are based on a survey of 639 companies across 13 industry sectors in eight major Indian cities. It states that, health care, hospitality IT/ITES, non-machinery manufacturing, and media & entertainment are the most optimistic about hiring activities. “Health care, hospitality and IT/ITES are looking forward to add more than two lakh jobs, whereas manufacturing (non-machinery products), media & entertainment, and real estate & construction sectors, each, are expecting one lakh plus additions,” noted the survey. The report also pointed out that the number of jobs created in the calendar year 2011 was around 14 lakh across the 13 sectors and that this number was lesser than the 16 lakh job generation predicted at the beginning of 2011.
