Focusing on Operational Excellence Date:   Friday , April 02, 2010 With more than 30 years of leadership experience coupled with deep domain knowledge, Prashant Ranade has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer and President at Syntel. Ranade explains, "I am honored to accept this opportunity to lead Syntel and I look forward to building on this foundation to continue helping our clients win in the marketplace." Prior to this position at Syntel, he founded Indus Ventures, LLC. Ranade served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Group Logistics and Assembly Systems, NA (currently Dematic GmbH & Co. KG). Ranade served on the board of directors at Dematic until July 2007 and has served as a director of Syntel since June 2007. Ranade obtained a BS degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). After emigrating to the US, he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where he received an MS degree in mechanical engineering. Following graduation, while working at Siemens Energy and Automation, he earned an MBA from Xavier University. Outside work, he enjoys reading, traveling, doing physical fitness exercises, tennis, and golf.
