Android One Phones: 8 Things You Need To Know


New Hardware Partners:

Google has signed up new partners to launch more Android Ones in future. These partners include Acer, Alcaltel, Panasonic, Xolo, and Qualcomm.

The current Android One phones are powered by MediaTek but with Qualcomm coming on board, the next round of devices  is expected to include Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

Hardware Specifications:

The device house a 4.5-inch IPS FWVGA (480x854p) display and is based on Google’s reference design hardware. Being powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, Mali-400MP GPU and 1GB RAM, the phones have 4GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 32GB capacity.

The Android One phones come with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, which support for Full HD video capture and a 2MP front-facing camera. They are fueled by a 1700mAh battery, while being preloaded with Flipkart, Flipkart eBook, and Facebook apps along with Smartpad for Indian language input.

Chintzy Price:

More than anything, the phone is priced very affordably. One of the three vendors, Spice, offers the phone for 6,299, while the Karbonn Sparkle V is priced at 6,399.
