Yu Launches its Flagship Set Yunicorn


 

BENGALURU- Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures has launched their flagship smartphone Yu Yunicorn, which was supposed to be launched last week in India. The roll-out of the smartphone was postponed for the election results which were scheduled on the same day reports, Gadgets 360.

The Yu Yunicorn mobile set features a metal body with a curved back. It has a fingerprint scanner on the oblong home button in the front side of the device giving it an iPhone like design. The device is supported by 4GB RAM and is packed with powerful Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755M).

Yu’s current flagship model runs on the Android v5.1 Lollipop unlike their previous model Yutopia which used Cyanogen operating system. The metallic body frame of the device gives a premium look to the users. With the volume key and power button on the right, Yunicorn sports a 5.5-inch Full HD resolution IPS display along with 2.5D curved glass. The thickness of the device is well suited for a firm grip. Along with clear and sharp images and texts, users can enjoy a great viewing angle with its 400ppi display pixel density.

On the camera front, the Yu Yunicorn incorporates a 13MP back auto-focus camera with dual-tone LED streak. The camera can likewise record in Full HD resolution. There is a front-facing 5MP selfie shooter too. Apart from these camera features, the smartphone also has Panorama mode, HDR, and Picture-in-Picture mode.

Yu officially affirms that the new model runs in Android with a deep integration of Around Yu, an administration aggregator platform that was presented a year ago along with the Yutopia cell phone. Yu will offer the Yunicorn smartphone by means of online channels exclusively through Flipkart. The introductory price of the smartphone is of 12,999 which will be available online from 7th June onwards.
