Xbox 360 Breaks the Sales Record

Las Vegas: Microsoft has sold over 66 million Xbox 360 gaming console worldwide since its launch in 2005. Microsoft revealed this detail in Consumer Electronic Shows 2012 at Las Vegas, after the keynote speech of Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer.

Microsoft said Xbox 360 is the first gaming console to reach more than 66 million milestone sales worldwide and there are more than 40 million users worldwide for Xbox Live.

Considering this data’s of Xbox 360’s sale since its release in 2005, PlayStation 2 which was launched in 2000 is the best selling gaming console till date with the sale of more than 155 million units. The PlayStation 3 which was launched in 2006 also reached sales of more than 55 million worldwide till date.

Microsoft’s Kinect sensor, a motion sensor input device for Xbox 360 game console, which was launched a year ago, has now sold more than 18 million units worldwide. The company is planning to launch Kinect for Windows within a few weeks.

Along with this the company wrote in a blog post, that the Windows Phone app market now has more than 50,000 varieties of app and is growing at a rate of 300 app per day.

This gaming console is available in India at 22,990 with Kinect.
