Windows Phones to Get Skype App

Bangalore: Lots of talks going around the web regarding Skype app for Windows Phones and many people wonder why Microsoft is delaying to integrate Skype app for Windows Phone. Microsoft has purchased Skype in October 2011 and now it’s planning to introduce a dedicated Skype app for devices based on Windows Phone OS.

“Microsoft’s Skype division is working on a Windows Phone product that will be coming out soon” said Rick Osterloh, VP of Products at Skype said at CES 2012, reports The Telegraphs.

Today many Windows Phone based smartphones comes with front facing cameras and majority of Windows Phone users are using third party apps for video calling or chats. Many are wishing to have a dedicated Skype app on their device rather than third party apps.

After a long gap Microsoft has started working with Skype as an integrated app. It may be a separate app which can be downloadable from the Windows app market or it might be included with the Windows Phone operating system.

It is surprising that Microsoft has still not included Windows Live Messenger and Skype to the Windows Phone OS but the company is keenly working on these services to be integrated to the operating system. Windows Phone users have to wait a little more for these services.
