Windows Mango gets new updates


Las Vegas: Microsoft grabbed the lime light at the MIX 11 conference in Las Vegas this week with its new update to its mobile platform "Windows Mango." The feature of this updated version of Windows Phone 7 was displayed in the conference. Joe Belfiore, Director of Windows Phone Program outlined some of the key features of "Windows Mango" like multi tasking, deeper integration of application with phone, camera access and access to motion sensor library. Belfiore also stated that Windows Phone 7 Mango update will bring new apps like Skype, Spoti and IMDb with better performance and quality for the platform. Mango will feature a full version of Internet Explorer 9, complete with HTML rendering engine and JavaScript support. Windows Phone will display HTML5 pages faster than the iPhone 4 or Android, on a Nexus phone. Running a test application Belfiore claimed a frame rate per second of 26 for Windows Phone versus 11 on Android and two on the iPhone. Mango will deliver performance optimizations in four key areas of interest to application developers: scrolling and input, image decode, garbage collections and memory usage, officials said. Belfiore declared that Mango phones will be available in 17 more countries than the first Windows Phone 7 devices and is expected to be market by May.
