Why The Kindle Fire HD Is A Far Better Tablet Than The ipad


BANGALORE: The release of the Kindle fire HD is already stealing the headlines now days, but Apple has released iPad Mini that raises the mark in the small tablets. But Amazon is literally doubling down on its small tablet lineup by offering two new variants of its Kindle Fire HD tablet, reports Jason Hidalgo, RGJ.

In 2014 Kindle introduced the new Kindle Voyage, a Kindle tablet for kids and a new version of the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, Amazon also unveiled the Kindle Fire HD 7 as well as a smaller Kindle Fire HD 6.

The new Kindle Fire HD 7 comes with a resolution of 1,280 by 800 at 216 pixels per inch and with a polarizing filter and anti-glare technology for rich color and deep contrast from any screening angle.

It has a high performance 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor with Imagination PowerVR 3D graphics core for fast and fluid performance. When compared to iPad mini it I srated upto 1.3 GHz.

Kindle Fire HD has a dual antenna Wi-Fi for over 35percent faster downloads, smoother gaming and streaming when compared to the iPad mini.

Kindle Fire HD has a 2 MP rear camera and a Front-facing HD camera for taking photos and making video calls. It is available in five colors, some are citron and magenta. Storage options remain the same at 8GB and 16GB.

Weight is 290 grams for the HD 6 and 337 grams for the HD 7, while the 7.9-inch Retina iPad Mini is 331 grams for the Wi-Fi-only version and 341 grams for the Wi-Fi plus cellular version. Wireless connectivity for the Kindle Fire HD 6 and HD 7 is limited to Wi-Fi only with no 4G option.

This gives you a better idea whether you should go for Amazon's Kindle Fire HD or Apple's iPad Mini.
