Why 7-inch is the Perfect Size for Tablets

Bangalore: It is off late that tablets have caught the attention of the buyers, and people have started buying it for their personal use. Companies have designed tablets which fit into the budget category and there are certain ones which are more of a luxury. The debate that surfaces again and again is what the ideal size of a tablet?

Tablets generally come in three sizes, the 5-inch tablets, the 7-inch tablets and then the 9.7-inch to 10.1-inch tablets. If we were to judge the best size, the 5-inch table would fall in the mini category and in time considered an over-sized smartphone which we call as ‘Phablet’ – a combination of phone and tablet, the best device that comes in this category is the Samsung Note. The 10-incher is great, but some poses problems because of its size, and then remains the 7-inch ones which have a number of preferable advantages worth knowing.

The portability of tablet forms an important norm while deciding which size tablet to purchase. Jobs had said, "seven-inch tablets are tweeners: too big to compete with a smartphone and too small to compete with the iPad.” At the time of the release of the first ever 10-inch tablet Steve Jobs actually went on to say that a 7-inch tablet would be dead on arrival.

But unlike a 10-inch tablet the 7-inch tablet has an advantage of just being the perfect size, it’s neither too small nor too bulky to hold and carry. Other plus a 7-inch tablet has over a 10-inch tablet is that it fits well into your handbag; it sits perfectly in their cases and fits into large pockets which seems quiet impossible for a 10-inch tablet. There are many tablet like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 310 which deliver the same performance as the 10-inchers and also have the additional advantage of being extra-portable.
