The iPad 2 Air To Be Most Powerful Apple Device With A 2GB Of RAM

BANGALORE: According to the rumors, all we knew was that the new iPad Air 2 was to come with an advanced 64-bit chip in it, but looks like there is more to it as revealed by the Repair and teardown specialist iFixit, as reported by the NDTV gadgets.

Based on the details given by iFixit, the iPad Air 2 has changes on the inside such as repositioned display cables, tweaks to Wi-Fi antennas and many more. But one big break down detail is that the teardown reveals that a 2 GB of RAM will be replaced instead of 1GB used by Apple. The specialist also mentioned that a smaller battery will be used compared to the last year's iPad Air.

Apparently, the new iPad Air 2 packs a 7340mAh battery instead of 8827mAh found on the older iPad Air. The rear camera on the iPad Air 2 is an 8-megapixel iSight camera and a front one is a FaceTime HD one instead of a 1.2 megapixel. The presence of the NXP 65V10 NFC Controller is also talked about in it. Though the iPad Air 2 does not officially support NFC, it is the same one found in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

The Apple iPad Air 2 is similarly assembled like its older version. Apple has also kept the Lightning connector port on the logic board, where if the port is damaged and needs to be replaced, the entire logic board will need to be taken out and replaced.

The iFixit team also rates the devices based on ease of repairability. The team gave the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 an identical 2 out of 10, which means both devices are quite difficult to repair.
