The Most Rumored Sony Honami Smartphone Finally Gets A Name

Bangalore: The favorite child of rumor mills, Honami by the Japanese manufacturer Sony, has made it to headlines again, this time for getting an official name. The camera phone is to be known as Xperia Z1 officially, claims some sources at XDA-Developers website, a place where everything from Android comes together.

The last time it made splash at headlines is when the images shot by the phone were leaked online. EXIF data, confirmed that the images were not tampered and they indeed were products of the Sony Honami Smartphone, that sports 20.65MP sensor and an f/2.0 aperture.

The Sony Xperia Honami is rumored to carry a 5-inch Full HD Triluminos display with the X-reality engine. The Smartphone has a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. The key selling point is its 20.7 megapixel camera and BIONZ image processor. The internal memory of 16GB can be expanded via the microSD card slot.

The Honami is also said to be IP57 certified, which means it will be dust-protected and will have the ability to withstand water for about 30 minutes. The connectivity options include the latest Android 4.2, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. Sony is expected to introduce this model on September 4th in Berlin. The date clashes with Samsung, as they are rumored to unveil the Samsung Galaxy Note III.
