The Laptop with 32 hours Battery Life

Bangalore: The slow phase of advancement in battery technology is the major bottle-neck which is limiting new amazing technologies to be implemented in portable devices. The gadget technology has boosted-up in the past decade, the processing speeds and storage capacities have also kept a surging growth, but there was only 3 to 5 percent innovation in the field of batteries.

HP (Hewlett Packard) is trying to fill this gap by making a laptop whose battery lasts for 32 hours without even plugging once. The HP’s Elite series ‘EliteBook laptop’ when clocked with a notebook battery has an extended battery life of 32 hours. But this extra juice adds some extra pounds to the device leading to a trade-off with mobility and portability. HP Elite series laptops comes with Intel core i7/i5 processor, integrated Intel graphic cards, Windows 7 OS, a maximum upgradable memory of 16GB and a price tag ranging from 45,000 to 75,000.

The effort of HP is very crucial for the whole portable device industry which has always been left thirsty for power. An important stress in this development is to make high-power batteries thinner and lighter. The company is designing laptop which knows better ways to use energy, like the shutting off when not in use, controlling the screen brightness with light sensors that adjust brightness according to the intensity of light in the room which will be a blessing for tablets. HP has also found that with a replacement of hard drive with solid-state flash memory drive the battery life step-ups by 18 percent. The use of Intel’s Sandy Bridge Integrated graphics which combine a microprocessor and graphics on the same chip increases the battery power by 26 percent.

All those who dreams to have high-performing gadget with actual high-power just keep your hopes high, wish and wait for a breakthrough to happen in the battery industry with some non-flammable electrolytes, may be!
