Sony Xperia Z4

BANGALORE: The Sony has unveiled its much awaited flagship Smartphone of the year earlier this week at Japan. The Xperia Z4 was rumored to launch in early March at MWC along with Samsung and HTC’s flagship handsets, reports Gizbot.

The new Z4 resembles the company’s earlier flagship device, Xperia Z3, in terms of design, aluminum frame and glass deign. However, the changes are made inside by sporting a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Sony continues the tradition of option to expand the memory through microSD.

The screen size goes untouched as the company sticks with 5.2-inch Full HD display. The battery on the other hand has been shrunk from 3100mAh to 2930mAh.

The camera sensor used in the new Xperia Z4 looks the same but on the paper, it is completely different although a 20.7MP along with 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor and BOINZ image processor which promises well versed image producer than the last one. The secondary camera is replaced with a 5MP sensor camera to capture best selfies.

The Xperia Z4 will have higher water and dust proof ratings than its predecessors with IP6X and IPX5/IPX8. The device will run on latest Android Lollipop 5.0 out-of-the-box. Another improvement is the addition of LDAC, a new audio technology which would enhance the audio quality further more than the last flagship Smartphone.

The new Smartphone will hit the Japanese market in next few days. However, the company hasn’t revealed the dates of global launch.

When Sony turned down its fans at MWC earlier this year, the fans assumed that company would come up with completely powerful device including the design. However, the expected changes are not seen in the new Xperia Smartphone instead only slightly better camera and processors have been the major alterations.

The new device seems more of a letdown for the company’s image. The Sony may have some other plans to stun the world with different edition of flagship Smartphone to introduce at the upcoming IFA later this year.
