Sony Xperia S: Arrival Delayed Till March


Bangalore: The availability of Sony’s first non-Ericsson Android smartphone ‘Xperia S’ is been in rumor after in launch in CES 2012. The company has now announced that this smartphone will hit the market only by March.

The online retailer Play.com has listed this Smartphone’s availability as January 29 previously, which is now changed to February 13. But the company has confirmed that the Xperia S will not be available in the market before March.

The Xperia S is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and can be upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The smartphone is powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. Other features includes; a stunning 4.3 inch high definition touchscreen display with 1280x720 pixels of resolution, 12 MP rear facing camera with Sony Exmor R image sensor, capable of 1080p video recording, 1.3 MP front facing camera for video calling and chats, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage memory and for connectivity it has HSPA, Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS, HDMI and NFC.

In addition to these specifications the Xperia S is also equipped with fast charging battery pack and is supposed to cost around 34,000.
