Sony Unveils Vaio Duo 11 Windows 8 Hybrid Tablet


Bangalore: Sony, the Japanese Electronics Giants have launched a new device into the market, the Vaio Duo 11. This is the company’s first Windows 8 hybrid gadget to be released.  

This gadget is different from Windows Surface Tablet because in this tablet the keyboard cannot be detached it can only be slid back. Once the keyboard is slid back it gives the user the tablet experience.

Sony’s hybrid will come in two variants, the processors in each of the gadget will be different; i3, i5 and i7 processors. The screen measures 11.6 inches making it quite a gigantic tablet. The screen has a resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels which is quite impressive and will be sure to generate sharp and clear images as well as text.

The hybrid device weighs 1.3 kgs and comes in two internal variants; 128 GB and 256 GB along with a slot for a microSD card that would boost up the memory up to 32 GB. The gadget would function on either Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro operating systems. It also comes with a VGA and HDMI output ports. On the connectivity front it is equipped with Wi-Fi and Ethernet ports as well.

The Vaio Duo 11 will be available once the other Windows 8 machines are released in the market which would be in the month of October. Sony has not yet revealed the price of the device. We will have to wait till October to get an idea about the pricing.
