Sony Launches Xperia Ion and SmartWatch in India


Bangalore: After a month of launching their mid range smartphones; Xperia neo L and Xperia Go in India, Sony have launched their eagerly awaited high end ‘Xperia ion’ smartphone for 36,999. Along with this the company also launched their ‘Sony SmartWatch’ for 6,299.

The phone was officially showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year in January. This smartphone comes with a large display screen of 4.6 inch LCD touch screen with HD Reality Display technology. The touch screen has a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor backed by a 1 GB RAM. The Xperia Ion runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. 

The smartphone boasts of an onboard memory of 16 GB with a slot for microSD card with which the memory is expandable up to 32 GB. The smartphone also has a 12 mega pixel primary camera and it also comes with a 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera which enables the user to make video calls. All these functions are backed by a 1900mAh battery.

For the Airtel customers Sony has come up with an exciting introductory offer which includes 500 MB free 3G data per month for 3 months, along with 200 minutes of Mobile TV free for 2 months.
