Samsung's First Android 4.0 Tablet


Bangalore: Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 2, the company’s first tablet running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

This new Tablet is powered by 1 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM. It features a 7 inch touchscreen with 1024x600 pixels of resolution, 3 MP rear camera, VGA front facing camera for video calls & chats and 16 or 32 GB internal memory. For connectivity it has 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD card slot for expanding memory, Bluetooth 3.0, USB, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G.

“Two years ago, Samsung Galaxy Tab began to offer customers more possibilities on the go. Since then, Samsung has actively enhanced our tablet line-up with several tablets in different sizes,” said JK Shin, President of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics. “The new Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) will provide people with delighted multimedia experience and allow efficient communication.”

The device is available in 3G and Wi-Fi versions, the company has not yet confirmed the price and availability in India but it is expected to be quite affordable costing around 25000.
