Samsung spreads portfolio with new LED TV series


Bangalore: Samsung has introduced LED TVs, for the first time, in 22 and 26 inch screen sizes. The new models have been launched across Series 4000 and Series 5000 of full HD LED TVs. Samsung now has 13 models in the LED TV range. Their prices range from 25,000 to 2,00,000 and the screen sizes extend from 22 to 55 inches. Samsung LED TVs use LEDs as their primary light source. It has various benefits like ultra-high contrast ratios, slim depths and increased energy savings. The Ultra Clear Panel feature supports every detail even in imperfect viewing conditions while its Clear Motion Rate frame interpolation technology reduce motion blur and image judder. This allows enhanced viewing of sports, video games and movies. The Edge LED technology makes the TVs ultra thin depth wise. Users can connect wirelessly to their TV with compatible mobile devices, thanks to the AllShare feature. There are four HDMI ports in the TVs which allow connecting of HDMI compatible devices to be connected and controlled through a single remote. Energy consumption in the televisions is reduced by 40 percent compared to the traditional LCD HDTVs of similar size. The LED TVs are mercury-free and lead free, which adds another degree of environmental friendliness and safety compared with other currently available backlight technologies. Ravinder Zutshi, Deputy Managing Director, Samsung India said, "Based on the strong acceptance that we witnessed for our LED TVs since their introduction, we are expecting our LED TVs to contribute over 15 percent of our Flat Panel TV sales this year." Samsung was the first Company to launch Full HD LED TVs globally as well as in India. Samsung expects to garner a 40 percent market share in the Indian market by the end of the year.
