Samsung introduces Nexus S in India @ 30,400


Bangalore: Samsung has officially launched the Google Nexus in India. Named as Samsung Nexus S, the Android phone is priced 30,400 while some of the online retailers such as Flipkart quoted a pre-order price of 27,999. The model launched in India comes with features such as a 4 inch Super Clear LCD, 1 GHz processor, Android 2.3, NFC, 5 MP rear camera and VGA front cam. Nexus S comes preloaded with 16GB of onboard storage with an option of expandable storage capacity up to 32GB via a microSD card to allow for more storage. The phone is basically integrated with Google services and comes with many Google apps such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps and Google Voice Search among others. Nexus S is manufactured by Samsung in partnership with Google and comes with the plain vanilla build of Gingerbread. This version will be the first to get Android updates until the next Nexus device is launched. This is the first device that features the Near Field Communication hardware that enables users to read and write NFC Tags. Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Neo and Arc are the other Gingerbread phones expected to hit the Indian market soon.
