Samsung Unveils Voice Controlled Android Camera


Bangalore: Samsung has officially announced their much rumored Android camera which comes loaded with the Google’s latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system along with company’s TouchWiz Nature UX. This makes the camera have the functionalities like photo organizing, photo sharing and voice-control.  The company has made this device fall under its Galaxy series and is named as the Galaxy camera.

The Galaxy camera sports a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.8 aperture and 23mm-480mm lens that features 21x of optical zoom. The device is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, which is there in Galaxy S3. The camera has a 4.8-inch S-LCD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, it supports only micro-SD memory and runs on 1,650 mAh battery which claims of giving up to seven hours of battery life. The camera also supports 3G with the use of micro-SIM, but you can’t use the device like a phone.

Samsung has pre-loaded the camera with numerous proprietary photography tools that give lots of photo editing options to the user. Users also have full access to the Google Play market for more photo editing apps like Instagram and many more.

Samsung has not revealed the price details of this camera, but they say that the shipment will start from October.

Recently Nikon has also launched their Android powered camera - Coolpix S800c in the Indian market which will hit the stores by this September. But this camera comes with the outdated Android Gingerbread operating system.
