Samsung Launches 2nd Generation Series 9 Ultrabook


Bangalore: CES 2012 has revealed a number of ultrabooks in past few days, now Samsung has come up with its series 9 ultrabook which is available in 13 and 15 inch models.

This is the second generation model of Samsung's series 9 laptops. The company claims it is 37 percent thinner and 181 grams lighter than the first generation series 9 models and both 13 and 15 inch models has an aluminum body.

These two ultrabooks are powered by 1.6 GHz Intel i5 processor, Intel HD 3000 graphics card, 128 GB SSD and runs on Windows 7 operating system. Both 13 and 15 inch models have 1600x900 screen resolutions, 500 GB of hard disk, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, webcam, USB, built in SD card reader and HDMI port. The 13 inch model has 4 GB of RAM weighting just 1.13 kilograms and the 15 inch model comes with 8 GB of RAM.

Along with this Samsung has also launched series 5 ultrabook which comes in 13 and 14 inch models and features dual core 1.6 GHz Intel i5 processor, integrated Intel graphics card 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard disk, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI ports.

With all such specifications and a sleek & light weight design, these ultrabooks will hit the market by February. In India the price of these ultrabooks is estimated to be around 55000 to 80000 and its availability is not confirmed yet. While other key players like Acer, Asus, Lenovo and Toshiba are coming up with their new ultrabooks to give fair competition.
