Samsung Galaxy Tab to Get ICS Update Next Month


Bangalore: A time when Google launched its new Android 4.1, Jelly Bean powered Nexus Tablet with Asus, Samsung has decided to upgrade and release its 10-inch and 7-inch Galaxy Tab to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) in the month of July. This is indeed good news to the Samsung users who were eagerly waiting for the up gradation to happen.

Following closely on the heels of the release of Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system for its Galaxy S2 Smartphone, Samsung is eager to release the same updates for its Galaxy tablets as well. This news hasn’t been released officially by the Samsung office but reports of the upgradation were spotted on the site sammobile.com. Though the dates for the release aren’t official, the up-gradation is expected to be out in the month of July and users in the European and Korean market will be the first ones to get their hands on the Ice Cream Sandwich tablets. 

What Does The Upgrade Mean To The User?

With the upgrade of the operating system to Ice Cream Sandwich the tablet is expected to work faster, have a better and longer battery life along with a few more additions to the functions which haven’t been made public yet. The Samsung devices that are likely to get an upgrade to ICS are Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, 7.7, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and a few other Galaxy tablets. As of now this is the information which is available to the public, in order to understand better how the upgrade will benefit us we have to wait for official comments from Samsung.
