Rumors: Is Android-Powered Lumia In The Making?

BANGALORE: Microsoft is all set to launch an Android based Smartphone that will be added to its Lumia range. The company is apparently working on a Lumia-based Android phone and is extending the Windows based phones to accommodate the newer ones.

According to Twitter leaks, Android powered Smartphones are being developed under Nokia by Microsoft brand and no further details are revealed yet.

Nokia took the world by surprise with the release of Nokia X, the company’s first Android based smartphone followed by the X+ and XL. These phones were positioned as a ‘feeder’ system for the Lumia phones and the company had replaced its own services with the ones from Google on the Android OS.

Even after the Android launch from the Nokia, the Lumia series were stuck with the Windows operating system until now. However, with the latest update 8.1 receiving good response from its users, looks like the company is bridging the gap between Android and Windows.
