Pepsi to Release a Smartphone Called "Pepsi P1"




BANGALORE: The world beverage leader PepsiCo has made news in the tech world as the word got out that the firm is working on an array of Smartphone with a licensing partner. Initially, the phone and its accessories will be made available only in China in the next few months, reports TOI.

According to email from the PepsiCo’s spokeswoman, the company has no schemes of indulging in Smartphone production. The spokeswoman said, "Available in China only, this effort is similar to recent globally licensed Pepsi products which include apparel and accessories."

The details of the phone or the name of the licensing partner of PepsiCo phone weren’t revealed by the company’s spokeswoman.

This advancement of PepsiCo was first reported by a technology website, Mobipicker, on October 11 and launch date and name of the phone were included. The post read, “The phone ‘Pepsi P1’ will be unveiled on October 20.”

As far as the tech reviewers’ predict, the Pepsi P1 will sport mid-range specs in it. On the other hand, the firm has many licensees in different category of business world. In 2014, PepsiCo joined hands with Danish luxury stereo and TV producer Bang & Olufsen and Italian shoemaker Del Toro for a range of products for their football campaign.
