Panasonic India Launches Four New Rugged Devices For Enterprise Market

Bangalore: Panasonic India has unveiled two new tablets namely – Toughpad FZ-G1, and Toughpad JT – B1 and two other handheld computer devices.

With an aim to target business users, Panasonic India is renewing its focus on B2B and B2G strategies planning to capture 40 percent of the country’s rugged devices market which has a current value of $5million.

Toughpad FZ-G1 is touted as the world’s first Windows 8 enterprise-grade ruggedized tablet. It is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor of 2.9GHz. The device has a 10.1 inch screen that supports 1920x1200 pixels resolution that also supports 10 finger multitouch. Toughpad FZ-G1 is water and dust resistant and also offers drop shock resistance up to 120cm, coming with a price of 1,75,000.

Another tablet called Toughpad JT-B1 is a completely tough Android tablet powered by a 1.5GHz Texas Instruments OMAP4460 processor, running Android 4.0. The device has a 7 inch display with anti-glare film on screen supporting a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. It is water and dust resistant like the previous one but has 150cm of shock resistance and is priced at 69,000.

In addition to tablets two handheld computer devices launched are JT-H300 and JT-H320HT based on Panasonic’s “TSA (Total Shock Absorbing) design”. The company claims that these devices running Windows CE are best suited for logistics and retail industry.

JT-H300 is priced at 60,000 while JT-H320 costs 40,000.
