Over 1 Million Pre-Orders For Playstation 4: Sony

Bangalore: Playstation 4, the latest video game console by Sony, is said to have over 1million pre-orders worldwide. This successor of PS3 (Play Station 3) will be available for purchase in North America from 15^th November and in the European market by November 29, said Andrew House, Chief Executive- Sony Computer Entertainment^. He added that by the start of holiday season, consoles will be available in 32 countries worldwide. On a news conference for Gamescom, Europe's biggest videogames fair, House said that "the response we have received is nothing short of incredible."

Sony has put a price tag which is $100 less than its rival, Microsoft Xbox One, quoted at $399. The new Xbox One was unveiled in May, however its sales is expected to begin with the onset of the holiday season, making a ground for race with Playstation 4. Chris Lewis, Vice President of Interactive Entertainment- Microsoft Europe, responded as “unprecedented” when enquired about preorders for Xbox One. Sony said that there will be a price drop for its previous gaming consoles Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita.
