Oculus Rift Introduces the Virtual Reality Experience in UK and Europe Market

BENGALURU: With the popularity of Virtual Reality (VR) buzzing across the globe, gadget lovers in the UK and Europe were eagerly waiting for the top-notch VR headsets. Putting an end to the long wait, Oculus has finally made the Oculus Rift headsets available for sale in the UK and European markets. Previously launched in the month of March with a price tag of $599, the company now offers the headset at €699 and £549 in Europe and the UK respectively.

Although operating the Oculus Rift might turn out to be a strenuous process, users will be able to appreciate the first virtual reality experience at the comfort of their homes. The company’s official website features a tool to test the headset’s compatibility with home computers. The gadget also comes with an Xbox controller; granting access to a plethora of innovative gaming experiences. Furthermore, an Oculus Live search tool is also included which will help users locate an in-store demonstration nearby.

Amazon branches operating in the UK, Germany and France have already started shipping the VR headsets. Similarly, other online retail players are also effectively distributing; such as John Lewis, GAME and PCWorld in the UK, Saturn and MediaMarkt in Germany, and FNAC in France.

Trying to grab a position in the Virtual Reality arena, HTC also introduced its VR headset known as the HTC Vive in April this year. Unlike Oculus Rift, HTC Vive effectively enables the users to move around a specific area. Additionally, Sony will also introduce its PlayStation VR system next month; integrated with the ability to connect directly to the PlayStation console.
