Nvidia GTX 680 Graphic Card: Gamers Dream!

Bangalore: Nvidia’s new graphic card ‘GeForce GTX680’ is engineered with Kepler architecture and claims to be the fastest graphic card for desktops at the moment. This new graphic card garbs the crown from the high-performing AMD as tests confirm that GTX680 is faster than Radeon HD 7970, the top graphics card of AMD.

GeForce GTX680 possess 2GB GDDR5 RAM running at 6000Mhz, 256-bit memory interface, 32 ROPs, 128 texture units and 1,536 CUDA cores. It also has TDP of 195W and is built using 28nm foundry process.

"The result of some 1.8 million man-hours of work over five years, the Kepler architecture's first offerings bring unprecedented technical capabilities to both gaming desktops and ultrabooks," says Nvidia in press release. The company states that the new card will be available in India from Asus, Gainward, Galaxy, MSI, Palit, POV, Sparkle and Zotac. The cost is expected to vary on the basis of model. It is rumored that Zotac will be selling GTX680 for 32,999, sounds good when compared to HD 7970 which costs 34,000.

Nvidia and AMD are the only two players in this high-end graphic card market for computer gamers. With the launch of GTX 680 this market is showing more good news for gamers, the new Kepler architecture which delivers better performance-per-watt and performance-per-mm has made Navidia win this game for time being.
