Nokia Soon to Unveil Symbian Belle


Bangalore: Though Nokia's latest Symbian operating system Anna hit the skids,it did not halt the cell phone herculean from launching the next version of the OS. The reports suggest that the cell phone manufacturer is ready to launch the next version of its Symbian OS code named Belle. Nokia is hosting a teaser campaign on its official Facebook fan page that says, "It is almost time to try something new" with "Something new on Symbian" added at the bottom. With not much time left for the announcement as the set date of August 24 is close,, the page flashing "Belle teaser" was changed to "teaser" as reported. Assorted videos of the forthcoming OS give a sneak peek into the specifications of the new version, which is said to be the most advanced edition of Symbian. The features are said to be an device includes updated notifications tab, virtual keyboard, widget layout, improved camera user interface (UI) and a redesigned interface. The company was shown to be working on Symbian Anna's successor through a recent video on CNET. The disclosed video shows N8 running OS Belle. There are rumors airing that Nokia plans to announce three new handsets powered by Symbian Belle namely: Cindy (Nokia 600), Zeta (Nokia 700), and Helen (Nokia 701) as reported in Pocket-link.com. The smartphones will feature 1 GHz processor and, 3.2-inch AMOLED display. Zeta and Helen is expected to sport a 5 and 8 megapixel camera respectively. Recently, Nokia released Symbian Anna OS for Nokia X7, N8, E7, C6-01, E6 and C7 users.
